Learn to Swim Groups

Swimmers will learn correct freestyle technique, side breathing and body rotation. Freestyle is taught with big, slow arms and fast kicking to maximize distance per stroke. Floats will be used to aid in drills but for completion of level swimmers must swim unassisted.

Swimmers will learn correct backstroke technique and body rotation. Swimmers will learn to relax and stretch on their back while maintaining correct body position. Long bodies will be emphasized while children are taught slow arms and fast kicking to maximize distance per stroke.

Breaststroke pull and kick will be taught separately and slowly combined to ensure correct timing and technique. Correct pull, kicking, and gliding will be stressed to ensure maximum distance per stroke.

Swimmers will learn dolphin kick and slowly add pull into the stroke. Breathing will then be added and the end result will be a two kick butterfly. Although this is different from correct competitive butterfly form, it will give swimmers a strong base for butterfly as they progress in their swimming ability.

Adult Class

This is a learn to swim program for adult beginner swimmers. This is a great program for anyone who increase their confidence in the water and also for those who are comfortable and wish to learn how to swim with greater technique. Classes will progress at the pace of the swimmer and will be geared towards the individual goals and needs of each swimmer.
